Bespoke Furniture – Roscoe Dining Table Creation
We recently completed this large recycled bespoke furniture piece. It was a Blackbutt dining table called the ‘Roscoe’ for this vivacious couple in Wollongong.
We made a matching bench seat which looks great in their hallway.
The table was an epic journey. The clients wanted something original with a unique design and industrial feel. They were very patient as there was a fair bit of consultation about design and overall look. The timber was sourced from a demolished Sydney warehouse (circa 1940s). It had lots of character, with surface cracks from its history and gum runs from it natural features.
Our clients wanted industrial-looking legs in black powder-coat to tie in with the black features of their kitchen.
We created the design and made up a template in wood so they could come and sit at the table and get a feel for the dimensions before we created the final legs. This process was important to ensure the client was happy every step of the way.
On delivery day, everyone was excited. Even their beautiful dog!
The table looked perfect in their lovely house in Wollongong.
We were sad to see the table leave our workshop. It attracted a lot of attention from passers by and other clients. Now we will have to source more timber because we already have orders for this design!
