Urban Timber is developing a retail space in Wollongong as part of an exciting new venture with traditional furniture makers, Peter and Cindy Ayres (PCA Furniture).

The new ‘King & Ayres Interiors’ is scheduled to open in Spring, offering a range of rustic, traditional and contemporary furniture as well as home furnishings.

‘We are delighted to partner with PCA Furniture. We share the values of quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction and they’re also a highly-regarded, family-owned business,’ said Urban Timber’s Shane King.

‘After the success of Urban Timber’s pop-up shop, and customer requests to see our showroom, we decided the time was right to move into a retail space.’

‘We recently secured a beautiful old building on Victoria Street in Wollongong. We’ve started work cleaning and fixing up the site. It’s a big job,’ said Shane.

‘The fit-out has only just begun, but we think the retro, post-industrial space will work with what we’re trying to achieve,’ said Shane. ‘We want King & Ayres to become a haven for lovers of warm, original and authentic interiors.’

King & Ayres will showcase a range of Urban Timber and PCA’s custom-made furniture including tables, vanities, sideboards and coffee tables as well as smaller timber items such as platters and breadboards.

The shop will also stock a range of soft furnishings and decor including cushions, wall-hangings and art, ceramics and a range of boutique gifts, jewellery, bags and scarves.

PCA and Urban Timber specialise in bespoke furniture making and King & Ayres Interiors will also act as their showroom.

‘We love working with clients to create feature pieces. Hopefully the new space will inspire customers to be creative and work with us to make something unique and beautiful for their own home or work place,’ said Shane.
